Culture: Is 50 Cent the Bono of Hip Hop? Rapper Travels with UN World Food Programme

Negatively charged with sexism, stupidity and ignorance for his lyrics; such as, “Go, go shawty it’s your birthday” and dropping the F-bomb faithfully without warning has grown into a “man of the people?” Suddenly this Jamaica Queens bred rapper is suggesting “we are the world?” Recently the Hip Hop mogul launched the “Street Kings” energy drinks promising ten cents of every purchase be donated to the world hunger initiatives and so far Fifty has provided 3.5 million meals to starving children.

When confronted about how this social move would affect his image, the “tough guy” rapper stated this, “I don’t care if my audience is prepared to move forward with me. They may not necessarily be growing at the same pace” on ABC Nightline last month.

We are witnessing someone grow right before our eyes.
